The reality of each moment has no meaning.1 It has no answers for us. It has only existence. Understanding is derived.2 Meaning requires time; change building frequency. Just as there is only one thing, that thing has one pattern. The pattern3 is the reason for all frequencies, the root force that governs all energy.4 The pattern of all things is known by the ways it makes meaning manifest.5 Chance, coincidence, choice or fate, one net of causation rules us all. The pattern is why: why this eroded and that fossilized, why you chose this and not that, why there is beauty and why there is suffering.6 The one reason that explains everything. Being built from becoming, so that 77 will be just as it is. Sometimes we understand why, and sometimes we are why. The pattern makes us, but we also make patterns. We are pattern finding, creating and enjoying animals.8 Our knowing and caring come from the pattern. It is our source of meaning, joy and purpose. The cause that incarnates all things. We often cannot trace the cause of things,9 but everything can have meaning,10 if we make it so. The pattern is the way we know.11 It’s everything’s meaning.
“Life has no meaning. Each of us has meaning and we bring it to life. It is a waste to be asking the question when you are the answer.” - Joseph Campbell
The derivative of a function of a real variable measures the sensitivity to change of a quantity (a function or dependent variable) determined by another quantity (the independent variable).
“The pattern, and it alone, brings into being and causes to pass away and confers purpose, that is to say, value and meaning, on all there is. To understand is to perceive patterns. To make intelligible is to reveal the basic pattern.” - The Proper Study of Mankind, Isaiah Berlin
Energy is the animating property of matter and its ability to cause change. It is transferable, can be converted in form, but is conserved.
The pattern literally “makes” sense.
“Try to exclude the possibility of suffering which the order of nature and the existence of free-wills involve, and you find that you have excluded life itself.” - The Problem of Pain,C.S. Lewis
The numeral 7 is here used to signify the ultimate truth or reality, existence, the universe, etc...
“Humans are pattern-seeking story-telling animals, and we are quite adept at telling stories about patterns, whether they exist or not.” - “Out of This World”, Michael Shermer
“Only the unknown frightens men.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Senseless tragedies occur, but it is their causes that are unknowable, not their effects.
The pattern provides a unified theory of epistemology, a convenient sign for the totality of sense, as 7 provides a unified representation of the totality of referents.
