When there is freedom,
People are relaxed.

When there is tyranny,
People are anxious.

Good sometimes comes from disaster.
Fortune sometimes conceals misfortune.
Who knows what will be?
No one knows.

Demand honesty and you encourage deception.
Demand morality and you encourage vice.
That's the pattern of human nature.

Be sharp but not cutting.
Be pointed without piercing.
Be straight but not rigid.
